Gusto ko ng DOG TAG eh, bakit ba?

I saw the commercial. I got interested. I read Bikoy's article. I got pissed at how he undermined the capability of the "I" or the individual to make change. I almost signed up. I read though that it can be a political or a commercial ploy to use people. I read how it takes up so much personal information from people. I decided not to sign up. Then, I read an article days after that questions raised against it have been answered.

I still doubted singing up. After all, I personally don't think I still need this campaign to pledge something I have pledged to myself, to God, and to my country way back when I was still grade 5. (and mind you, I have done many things to actualize my pledge. :P) This promise to the countrywas also strengthened by the fact that I have been Iskolar ng Bayan twice, high school and college, ang that the taxes of the Filipino people literally allows me to pursue my studies and have allowances every month. I owe my people. I know that. I doubt what I can do for my country is even enough to repay my debts.

So no. I don't need the campaign. I was happy that something like it exists though. I have always believed that a collective action is impossible yet for Filipinos unless you have started planting in their minds that hey, we have to start being good citizens to effect change in this country. Sabi ko nga nung una: "Buti naman para may kasama na kong naniniwalang may pag-asa pa tayo." Pero nung nabalitaan ko na may issues pa pala kahit ang isang campaign lang na ang layunin na nga ay magbigay ng paq-asa sa mga Filipino, nanghinayang ako. SOBRA.

Sana sinagot na lang kaagad nbg DDB yung issue na sila nga may-ari. At sana hindi talaga magamit ang campaign na to sa sariling kapakanan lang ng iilan. Mahiya naman sana sila.

At nakakalungkot na na hanggang sana na lang tayo palagi. It makes us feel so powerless that all we can do is to say 'sana'.

Kaya nga SANA, kung ano man talaga ang point ng campaign na to, mahiya naman ang mga tao sa likod nito at wag nila gamitin to sa sarili nilang kapakanan. Don't be hypocritical by trying to effect HOPE on people and destroying the same trust where those people can derive their hope from.

At magsisign-up na ko. Di dahil buong puso ako naniniwala (dahil sinira ng mga issue na to at ng kawalan ng kakayahan ng kung sino man nagsimula nito na tanggalin ang lahat ng posibleng security issues na bumabalot dito), kundi dahil gusto ko ng DOG TAG.
